A view of Kingsley's ' Little White Town' from across the Torridge, at East-the-Water. Bideford's Market Charter was granted in 1272 by Henry III. The Pannier Market Hall is a delightfully ancient building, recently refurbished. The bridge, with its many arches, each of a different span, is 13th-century.

This view shows my house. It is the one at this end of Springfield Terrace - you can see a number of the terrace chimneys peeping out over the top of the hill to the left.
