I stayed here firstly with my mom an dad grandmother and auntie when I would have been 7years old or less. I stayed there again with just my mom and dad soon after. I remember bigbury on sea very well. my aunt miss Nellie yeoman owned the korniloff hotel from 1914 to 1945, an I used to be taken by my parents every year in the thirties and had a good time there as it is a lovely beach. my aunt sold korniloff in 1945 and bought a bungalow in the village called Craigivar andlived there until her death in the early sixties together with her sister Kay.My name is Richard Yeoman.

My grandfather, Herbert Powell, owned the Korniloff Hotel after marrying his second wife, Ilse Buckingham, in the 1960's. We lived in the annexe that no longer seems to be there and I remember it as the happiest time of my life. Since summer 1972 I visited Bigbury a couple of times, sometimes together with friends, sometimes with my son Thomas. The last time we have been there in 1998 for a short visit just to keep up memories. We always used to stay in the Korniloff-Hotel, which was owned by Ken and Sheila and we felt like being home because of the great hospitality.
