Blackpool, From The Sands 1896

More about this scene
Facing the sands were (from the left) the Prince of Wales Theatre, the Winter Gardens, the Tower, the Royal Hotel, the New Inn, the Big Wheel, and the Coffee Palace. On the sands are shrimp and jellied eel stalls, and donkeys waiting patiently to give the children rides. The large crowd (right) may be drawn to Mr Toole, 'the hair king' (he claimed to cure baldness), the minstrels, or a character on a high ladder who threw sticks of rock into the crowds.
