I grew up in Jersey Road Blaengwynfi-was Dorothy Davies and my father was Don Davies the bandmaster in the 1950s. I was born in 1948 and have a photo of my class with Mrs Mitchel and Miss James in the infants' school in l955 before we went up the ' top school'. Loretta Newman's name was very familiar to me though I didn't know her well. I knew a Helen Jones whose mother had remarried a Mr. Speck-any relation? I could try to copy the photo, but am not tech savie and don't know how to get it on-line.If you're interested I'll try though.

I don't know the people you mention, but a very nice girl in my year named Marilyn Godfrey lived at 14 Chapel St. Stephanie would have lived in Margaret Terrace.

Hi Dorothy good to hear from you, re blaengwynfi infants school. We must be aware of each other only being a year apart. I have a photo but as a very young girl took a biro to it! Don’t recall Helen Speck although my grandparent we’re specks! I know names like miss Brown headmistress and miss zackary? Do you remember Vivian John? A neighbour in Beatrice street. I remember your Dads name my brother Alan played the Cornet? I was looking for photos I only have one. I have one from the top school I won a cup at sports day.
