More about this scene

This house was originally called Gravenhurst. During World War II British soldiers camped in the grounds, whilst the house was used by a London-based engineering company whose premises had been bombed. The building was then used as a home for blind people, and renamed Bolney Court. In 1955, at the time of this photograph, it became a school for emotionally disturbed children and was re-named Farley Close.
