A Family Friend Who Lived A Solitary Life In A Gypsy Caravan!
A Memory of Bordon.
I recall visiting a family friend as a little girl , I knew him as Bill Reeves , he lived a solitary life in a beautiful gypsy caravan in the woodland somewhere in the area.
He was a fount of knowledge regarding anything in the natural world, smoked a pipe and rode his bicycle as preferred method of transport! Well travelled and possibly a conscientious objector during the war , I’d love to know more about this fascinating figure.
I’d love to hear from anyone who remembers any more of him as I know he was a valued family friend, but of course as contacts have died off we lost touch .
My last memories were probably mid seventies and he was quite elderly by then.
The caravan lives on in my memory it was a genuine old wagon.
