Again looking back towards the church, this picture gives a good idea of the size of the Square, with the Market Hall on the left. Note the Dolphin Hotel on the left, and the Bugle Inn opposite. Botley once had numerous inns, because it was a kind of coaching station where drivers rested before crossing the Hamble River.
