Austin's Mead

A Memory of Bovingdon.

I remember moving to Bovingdon in 1965, we lived in Austin's Mead (they were the houses for the R.A.F. families). My name was Andrea Jackson then, I was about 7 yrs old. The local doctor was Dr. Anderson. At the bottom of Austin's Mead there was an old forge.

Hi Andrea
I know this was a while ago, and I hope you don't mind me contacting you. I am working on a new architecture series with George Clarke for Channel 4 and was interested to read your memories of Bovingdon from 1965. I am researching the area from the early 70s and trying to find photos of Bovingon and some of its streets from that time, and also talk to people for general research. I would be very interested in finding out more if it's something you would be happy to help with? If so please email me on lucy.hinson@betty.co.uk (Betty is the production company making the series on behalf of Channel 4, and I am the assistant producer).
Many thanks!
Lucy
