More about this scene
In the foreground is Barton Farm, a dairy farm worked by the Chard family. The hay ricks and the milking sheds (skillins) remind us of another time. The County Council bought the land in the 1970s for development into the Country Park. The railway goods shed (left of centre) was demolished to make a car park. The roof of the Tithe Barn is bottom left.
