Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

The eastern chapel was the Horton family's worshipping place. The stained glass in the south window has several Netherlands roundels of the 16th century and later. Brasses commemorate the great clothier Thomas Horton and his wife. There are also memorials to Anne Long, 1601, in brass, and to Charles Steward, 1701: a standing figure (by Nost) is in front of a blank arch, with mourning putti left and right. Father and son John Thresher, 1741, have an architectural tablet with two putti outside holding draperies. Anthony Methuen, 1737, is a standing monument by Rysbrack, with a grey sarcophagus framed with Ionic columns carrying a pediment.

The Old Ride, My Nightmare Ever Since
I was at The Old Ride when I was seven and the school was in Little Horwood, Nr Bletchly Bucks. It had to be the worse time of my life. After 2 weeks, I was caught talking after lights out, and had to go to Reverend's study for a beating of six of the best with a horse whip. Thomas Pearce Bevan
I have been searching my family tree and find that I had a great great great grandfather named Thomas Pearce Bevan who was born in Bradford on Avon born in 1805. He became a surgeon living in Rochester. He was married to Charlotte (Hodder) from the Isle of Wight. I believe his fathers name was Stephen. Apparently, Charlotte left some money to set up a small charity in Bradford which is now defunct. I am ...see more

The Old Ride
I was a day boy between 1966 and 1970. I was always in trouble and spent most of my meals on the punishment table. The ruling was tyranical, you had to eat everything on your plate and couldn't leave the table until you had done so; classical music was played during the main course at lunch time and talking was not allowed. The Old Ride
I first saw Frankleigh House through the trees in the distance as I was driven there for my first day at The Old Ride Preparatory School for Boys. The school and its predecessor had been based there for many years. As a seven year old it was an inspiring sight. What seemed to be a huge building in acres of lawns and green fields. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
