More about this scene
The post office at the entrance to the Shambles (centre) was built in 1901. It is a fine example of early 20th-century architecture, with echoes of the past in the corner oriel window. A Preservation Society Trust plaque on the wall remarks on the rare Edward VIII 1936 monogram added later to the facade.
