Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

My name is Frank Raper I was born in 1936 lived on Ravenscliffe Estate until 1961.Childhood days were great we were surrounded by woods and fields at that time their were no other estates in that area.Even though war war was raging in the 40s we were unaware of it and apart from having to take our Gas Masks to school and the blasts of the siren from Moorside Mill (now the INDUSTRIAL MUSEUM) we carried on regardless. ...see more
Looking for the name of a wine bar/nightclub near the library on Manchester road please
I was born in 1953 and live at Number 2 Thornton Square just on the opposite side of Manchester Road to Ryan Street where I went mumming down to Donisthorpe Street where my Great Auntie Doris lived. I was dressed in what was called a siren suit in red with a pointy bit at the top of the head. It is lovely to hear of someone else who remembers mumming night.
I grew up on Kingswood Terrace, Great Horton from 1942 - 1967 and have many memories of good times there. I enjoyed Scouting with the 3rd Bradford South Troop for many years at the old Bell School on Southfield Lane. I remember trying out all the pubs in the area particularly the Kings Arms and the Bull's Head (both of which I later worked in for a while). I spent lots of time at the Great Horton ...see more
