More about this scene
The post office (right) may have been purposely built in the late 19th century; outside is the red letter box and telephone kiosk. Beyond it is a late 17th-century thatched house with a tall brick chimney stack. The pantile-roofed building is a workshop or old smithy where a cart is being repaired. Next door and in the yard behind is Windsor Motors.
