Brandon, The Flint Knappers, Market Hill Corner c.1955
Photo ref:

More about this scene
Brandon was famous for its flint knapping industry, which supplied gunflints throughout the world. The Edwardian pub retains many original features, including stained and lettered glass windows. P W Hyam's, opposite, baker and confectioner, has been demolished, along with all the buildings behind it. This was done when Brandon was redeveloped in the 1960 and 1970s, as a result of becoming a 'London Overspill' town.
