Miss Briggs And Mister Thorpe
A Memory of Bredbury.
I too remember these two people from St Marks as I attended the school from 1955 and move onto Marple Hall Grammar School in 1962.
I lived in Sidebottom street (number 15 I think) and my neighbours were the Worsleys and there daughters Rita and Sandra.
I have very fond memories of the house which was opposite the wreck where we used to build a bonfire every Guy Fawkes night.
Others I remember are the Jacksons ironmongers shop and the end of the road and their son Peter.
As far as school friends go I can remember Geoffrey Dawson, Kenneth Bridenbach but not more.
Great times and great memories.
I have moved around very much as my father was a policeman and for the past 22 years I have been living and working in Sweden and continue to live there now that I have retired.
