Bridport, St Mary's Rectory 1906

More about this scene
The Rectory in South Street, on the south side of St Mary's Parish Church, was the home of the Rural Dean, Rev Henry Richard William Farrer, who was an honorary canon of Salisbury Cathedral. Here it is seen from the grounds, looking northwards, with the church tower beyond. Farrer's second son, Major Henry William Francis Blackburne Farrer if the Royal Field Artillery, would be killed at the age of 24 by a German shell in France, only days before the end of the Great War in 1918.
