More about this scene

A little south-west of Witley, the route passes the tile-hung Dog and Pheasant pub on the A286 Haslemere Road; it stands opposite the village cricket ground with the 1923 village hall. The pub is virtually unchanged today except for the right-hand building, which now has leaded light windows, and the external staircase has been glazed in, doubtless for safety reasons. Of course, the cars parked outside are rather different now.
