Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

I am going back to the mid '70s here. I have found no reference to the lake anywhere, but it is not related to the Gurney Slade quarries. As a schoolboy, living in Shepton Mallet, I was keen on fishing. I mostly went to Emborough Pond, or the River Brue at Baltonsborough. I was born in a village near Bruton in 1939. My early memories of walking to school with my gas mask in a bag over the shoulder (never had to use it). There was an army camp down the road from our cottage, so there was lots of activity around. I used to watch the searchlight, thought at that time it was very exciting.
