More about this scene

Sussex beaches are mostly shingle above high water mark, so it is understandable that the two miles of golden sand between the mouth of the River Rother and the shingle banks of Dungeness should develop as a holiday resort. I lived with my sister, I was 9 when I first stayed with her. I spent many hours on the beach at Jury's Gap loving the feel of the sand and sun, it was safe in those days. Our dog, Whiskey was with me a lot of the time, although he used to wonder off for days on end. He'd come home when he was hungry. I still have fond memories of that beach, life was simple but fun. I would love to feel that way again.
