Canterbury, General View c.1952

More about this scene
This view was photographed from the tower of the Westgate. The vast bulk of the Cathedral soars above the city, and St Peter's Street and the High Street are seen bedecked in flags and bunting to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth the Second. The small towers of St Peter's Church and St George's Church are visible on the left-hand side of the thoroughfare.
