Kings Holiday Camp

A Memory of Canvey Island.

It would have been mid August 1970 when I had my first holiday here, together with my parents, aunt, and our two dogs. I was 8 years old. It was 50 years ago this month. We rented a chalet for two weeks. There was a duck pond in front of it.
Canvey and Kings memories:
The sweet shop near the camp run by a lady who owned a lot of dogs!
Those 4 wheeled bikes with bench seats you could hire on camp. They were green. Driver sat on the right.
The amusement arcade on the camp. The Night Bomber was my favourite.
The beach of course.
Walking down to the beach, all of us, of an evening, buying hot dogs, donuts and candy floss!
The trampoline park down near the front.
Sure I will think back to more memories. Happy days. We lived in north west London so not far from home really. 1970 was our first year, we had maybe 2 or 3 more holidays there. Believe Kings is still there, at least so I'm told. Privately owned holiday lodges now.
