More about this scene
This little hamlet lies on the River Llugwy, at the foot of Snowdon. It is now home to the National Mountaineering Centre at Plas Brenin, but has been known for many years for its superb view of the Snowdon 'horseshoe'. This photograph shows the wooded valley at Capel Curig. In the Victorian era it was very popular with anglers, and there were coaches carrying visitors from Betws-y-Coed to Bangor and Llanberis.
