More about this scene
In 1312 England was on the brink of civil war. Robert the Bruce seized the advantage by dispatching his brother Edward, together with James Douglas, into northern England. They sacked a number of towns, including Durham and Hartlepool, while Robert reduced England's Scottish possessions to a handful of fortresses. In 1313 Robert invaded Man, besieging and almost destroying Castle Rushen in the process.
