Graham & Fisher Ironmonger & Implement Agents Chatteris.

A Memory of Chatteris.

In further response to Mr Ian Graham I have a few images of the Lister "D" type stationary engine that was supplied in 1942, possibly to a farmer as were many of these engines between 1926 and 1965, during which time over 250.000 were made. The engine is still in regular use, I have a short video of the engine sawing wood for a chimenea. Dean Waters.https://youtu.be/5NnsBoI-3ww

Comments & Feedback

Thanks for your additional comment, Dean. I've been on Youtube and seen your video. Interesting, isn't it, that your set-up is in effect a miniaturisation of the traction engine method? Within 2 or 3 years, Ferguson had introduced the beginnings of hydraulics take-off, and it all went off in that direction.
Since I first posted, the 1939 population registration has been released, and it's interesting to note that my great grandfather, Thomas Graham, described himself as "Agricultural Implement Dealer, Engineer and Ironmonger", and my grandfather described both himself and my father (then 18 ) as "Agricultural Engineer and Ironmonger".
