Cheam, Cheam Park House Gardens 1928

More about this scene
The neatly mown lawns and carefully maintained flowerbeds surrounding Cheam Park House are viewed from the vantage point above the porticoed entrance; we are looking down onto the sweeping gravelled drive. The grounds were surrounded by a ha-ha, or sunken fence, which prevented animals from straying onto the property from the surrounding farmland without interrupting the view.
