Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

Marten's Tower and its flanking turrets was erected between 1285 and 1293 by Roger Bigod III. The tower is a massive D-shaped structure protected at ground level from attack either from battering ram or undermining by two spur bastions. The tower performed a dual function. Militarily, it enabled flank fire to be directed against attackers attempting an assault upon the barbican and twin-towered gatehouse. Domestically, it formed the private apartments of Roger Bigod.

Childhood Playground.
Can still see the smoke in photograph of the old council refuge tip ( just off centre l/h side top of pic..) which was at the end of the Chepstow golf club the rubbish in those days being tipped virtually onto the edge of the woods above the banks of the river Wye . The golf club itself was in front of the old mansion and stretched forward right to the clubhouse was just situated just as you came out of the woods ...see more

Clog Dancing At The Two Rivers Folk Festival
I went to this folk festival for the first time this year and got some memories that I will never forget!  Exciting music and dance memories at the entertainment venues around Chepstow plus a never to be forgotten rain soaked camping experience on the Chepstow racecourse along with woeful sanitation! The Cottage Hospital

I hope I am not mistaken, but this building looks very much like the old Chepstow Cottage Hospital. I lived and worked at Sedbury in the 1970's and I am sure this is where we used to bring our youngsters (from SPS) to be treated.

Grandfather
My Grandfather, Reginald Cornish, is standing in front of the car (waiting to embark) in the centre of the photo. He was County Engineer for Monmouthshire. I still live in Chepstow and the buildings to the top and left were demolished after the Severn Bridge was built directly above the slip way.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
