Old-style forage harvesting is going on in a pastoral view of Chideock and its valley. This was taken from the slope below Newfoundland Coppice, looking south-eastwards to Eype Down (centre), with Doghouse Farm in the dip below (right). The main road to Bridport snakes up the hill above Park Farm and Clammers Field, towards Turnpike Cottage and Miles Cross (left).

I started school at the age of five following in the footsteps of my brother John and sister Pam and walking each day to school from Quarr Lane, sometimes we used the footpath starting at Frogmore farm and coming out above the football field which was in the field next to the Council houses.
