More about this scene
Standing opposite the start of the churchyard, Frith's photographer looks back along the High Street to the Vicarage Road junction and the A319 main Bagshot to Chertsey road. The White Hart has had the paint removed from its front and is now no longer a straightforward village pub, but a Bluebecker's Eating House. Beyond the shop is now Lloyds Pharmacy, whose good early 19th-century shopfront with fluted Doric columns is still intact.
