Churt, The Crossways c.1955

More about this scene
One of my earliest memories is of an early 1950s caravan holiday at Churt. Here, at about that time, Frith's photographer looks north along the main Hindhead-Farnham road towards the Crossways: this is what the main crossroads in Churt is called, and so is the pub at the right, a Courage house. Overton's Garage beyond the signpost has been rebuilt since, and is a smart Volvo garage now.
