Cirencester has managed to keep the worst ravages of unsympathetic development at bay. Most of the buildings shown in this picture, which was taken in the latter years of Queen Victoria's reign, can be seen in Gloucester Street to this day. The boys in their Sunday best were plainly fascinated by the photographer.
