Why are these different? All 300,000 photographs in The Frith Collection have been scanned, but as the photos were taken over a 110 year period on a wide range of glass & film negatives, using different photographic processes, every image has to be checked and optimised, before we make a print for a customer.

A Memory Of Claverdon Post Office

I remember this post office & stores being run by a nice couple - Mr & Mrs Simons. I think she may have been Welsh, as she used to call us children "deeeya" for "dear". My Dad
My dad worked on the farm from 1955 to1971, he was called Eugen Luczynski. I have many happy memories of life then; we lived in a farm cottage on Yarningale Common surrounded by the fields belonging to the farm - I remember summer evenings watching the combine harvester or the baler and sometimes I would be allowed to ride back to the farm on top of the stack of straw bales, dodging the trees on the way! Childhood Memories
I used to stay here with my nan; she lived in both sides of this building, it was two houses then. The side that you can see is where she lived until she left when my grandad died. The top window was her bedroom, the window on the ground floor is hidden by the bushes that was her 'best room' for Sundays and visitors! You had to go through that room to the toilet, and a storeroom where grandad used to rear ...see more

Basse Croft
My Granny and her brother Willy were born in this home in the late 1800's. My grannie was Hettie Annie Cockbill. She left here in the early 1900's to marry my grandfather who was from Stratford. My grandfather had moved to the new world and due to fighting the Kaiser in the first War for Canada, was given a homestead in Saskatchewan, Canada. All our photos are printed as optimised versions of their originals, this process can take anything from 15 minutes to several hours. This ensures that the product you get shows the true quality that Frith photos are renowned for.

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
