Ridge House School

A Memory of Cold Ash.

I went to RidgeHouse school from about 1952 to 1956.Unfortunately the school which was almost opposite the convent school has been demolished and replaced with some houses. The school had a large area of ground which included a wood, great for playing in as I remember climbing many trees ( no health and safety then!). The lessons were varied ( about 10 different subjects from maths to French). We also had a rest time which involved lying on the floor with your head on a horrible plastic pillow. The Headmistress was a Ms Wilder, but I can't remember any of the other teachers names . I still have some of my attendance cards. We also had nature walks around Cold Ash in a formation crocodile. It was a mixed day school so there were no boarders If there is anybody out there that can remember this school it would great to hear from them.

They were hard leather pillows, I believe. I was at Ridge House from 1966 to 1972. Loved the sports days at Miss Wilders house, eating the cherries from her trees.
Great to hear from another pupil . I don't remember going to Miss Wilders house for sport days. Was it close to the school? There was a level piece of ground to the side of Ridge House which I believe used to be hockey pitch but when I was there it was pretty rough so I don't think it had been used as a hockey pitch for a while. We also performed plays using the front entrance to the school as the stage when parents were invited. I have some pictures which I would be happy to share if anybody is interested.
Is this still a thing? So many people went through this school it would be lovelyto make cotact with some of them.
