More about this scene
The war memorial remembers those killed in both the First and Second World Wars. It is also interesting to recall that there was a prisoner of war camp in the village; it was in the grounds of Marbury Hall, which was demolished in the 1960s. Just behind the memorial the flat area of ground is a bowling green, with today a fine new clubhouse just beyond.
