Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

The parish church appears quite imposing on its elevated position. Some 12th-century parts survive, but it is externally 15th-century, with chancel and side chapels of 1865 by Henry Woodyer, who was also responsible for the fountain in the Market Place at Devizes.

Where Are You Celia

1958/9 Stationed in the Radio School RAF Compton Bassett I met my first true love Celia from Edinburgh. Always wondered what happened to her after we last met RAF St mawgon,just before I was posted to Germany!

Happy Times
I was at Compton in 1955 on the TPO course and again in 1956 on the Wireless course, loved the time I spent there and am still in touch with some of the Wraf friends I met there, they were good times.

Sgt. Barraclough
Was Sgt Barraclough an instructor in the teleprinter and tape-relay sections - who lived just across the road in the married quarters? (name rings bell ) but it was a long time ago - 1957

R.A.F. Compton Bassett Nr. Calne, Wiltshire
Yes. Compton Bassett = great memories I was stationed a the RAF base there - No. 3 School of Radio Training- had many a walk over the hill to the chalk white horse - about half a mile from the camp in the spring/summer of 1957. The camp was located just off the main Rd - and at the beginning of the lane that goes further down to the village - (I have quite a few photos of it) - it covered a large area, it has now reverted back to farm land. A beautiful and magical part of England.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
