Coulsdon, View From Farthing Down c.1960

More about this scene
A fine panoramic view of east Coulsdon shows the extent of the development in the late 1920s and 1930s in Marlpit Lane, Bradmore Way and neighbouring roads. Prior to this development, only Marlpit Farm would have been visible from the slopes of Farthing Down. A narrow hedge-lined Marlpit Lane linking Coulsdon to Old Coulsdon survived until its widening in 1928.
