More about this scene
It is regrettable that these fine school buildings in Stoneyfield Road, opened in 1939, were sold in 1992 and the land is now covered by houses in Rossetti Gardens and neighbouring roads. At the end of the war there were 520 girls on the registers, many of whom will remember the headmistress, Miss J C Simpson, who presided until 1962.
