Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

The gabled row of houses leads towards a railway bridge with St Andrew`s Church beyond. The houses were built in the early 1900s when the road was part of Smitham Bottom Road and now preside over a continual flow of traffic as part of the A237. The trees on the right hide the playground and buildings of Smitham School which has since relocated to Portnalls Road.

Happy Days In Coulsdon, 1947 To 1955
Born in Purley Hospital in 1947, we lived in Bramley Avenue for the first 2 years of my life, but of course I have no memories of that. We then moved to 30 Grove Wood Hill, which is off Woodcote Grove Road. I had a couple of good friends in the road, One called Julius Caesar believe it or not, and another whose name I can't recall but he collected birds eggs, now illegal. 80 St. Andrews Road
I spent many a happy year here before enlisting in the RAF (National Service) then in 1953 off to Canada and have been there ever since! Now a proud Canadian! Michael Edwards.

Klm Motors
I worked at KLM and left there 1970 as I immigrated to Canada.l remember dick Lyles he was manager, Fred hurry was shop foreman. I also remember Larry Wooley,Mick Wragg.peter beeson.sgeve pengelly was my apprentice,Mick Wragg and myself also share 24hr AA RAC breakdown and accident calls.we lived in houses on Brighton Rd adjacent to the garage. I really enjoyed working there, a good bunch of guys

1940 Ace Pilot Killed On Purley School Playing Field
In September 1940 I lived in Meadway and witnessed a Hurricane fighter crash in the Purley Boys Grammar School playing field. The pilot, an Ace pilot of the Battle of Britain was known as Caesar and he died that day and I went up to view the site. At the time I was attending the Purley Girls Grammar School. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
