More about this scene
Cowbridge can trace its origins as far back as Roman times, when a small fort was built here. Set in the midst of a region of rich and picturesque farms, it developed into an important market centre for the agricultural community. The High Street runs along the mile long Roman road within the small market town. Town houses were built in the early 19th century for wealthy families and, in the late 1800s, 27 public houses existed along the High Street.
