My Mum Bridget (Bessie) Kilmurray was born in Cowie to James and Jane Kilmurray. Her sister was Margaret(Maggie) who married Joseph McAteer. My mum was born in 1920 and I believe my grandfather and my uncles were coal miners. Does anyone remember the Kilmurray family? There was 13 living children. My aunt Maggie and Uncle Joe lived in Bannockburn
My records agree Joseph McAteer (born 1905) married Margaret Kilmurray. His brother, my father, John McAteer (1893) married Annie Murray ( 1896) in Belfast 1924. I have no other information on the Kilmurrays but would welcome email comment. Thank you, Patrick McAteer. patrickmcateer@ntlworld.com
