Crawley, The George Hotel 1903

More about this scene
The medieval settlement of Crawley, situated half way along the London to Brighton Road, was ideally located to become an 18th-century coaching town. The George Hotel, with its gallows inn sign straddling the road, dates from the 16th century, and still retains part of the original timber-framed building.
