More about this scene

Cregneish lies between Port St Mary and the Calf of Man. When this picture was taken, most of the villagers would have earned their living from agriculture or fishing, or both. A number of properties, including a weaver's cottage and a farmstead, now comprise the National Folk Museum, and are fitted out to portray village life as it was around 1900.
