The backdrop of houses in Marine Crescent and Marine Terrace show little of the passing years as the 'greening' of the protective sands between them and Crosby Marina adds to the pleasant outlook. Within the immediate vicinity there are ample leisure facilities for those whose interests lie outside sailing: athletics, pitch and putt, tennis, soccer, rugby football and a fitness centre complete with a swimming pool are all available locally.

Lewis's Department Store
Worked as a Saturday girl in 1970s and then in summer holidays as a Student. So sad to see that famous building with the naked man Statue so part of our heritage now derelict and deserted. Lived near Victoria Park Waterloo bordering on Crosby and Merchant Taylor's Boys school . Went to Seafield Grammar School so nostalgic to see the postcards. Would love to see some old photos of a bustling Lewis Store ,Blacklers and old George Henry Lees store (John Lewis branch)

my dad worked for rainfords after the war .he worked 5 days a week early mornings till late .he enjoyed driving even when he retired .he drove a mini bus for few more years taking children to schools .he lived till he was 96 ..he ran a darts team nags head thornton and football team he had good mates there what memories

Pioneer Laundry Crosby
Hi I'm looking for info from anyone who might remember James McComb who ran the Pioneer Laundry in Endbutt Lane. I'm doing some family tree tracing! Thanks Liz

Tennis Courts
My family lived in Crossender Road ,Crosby 1940-1948 There were KNIBBS Tennis Courts ( which was used by the US ARMY as a depot for some years during WW11) at the one end close to the railway line. At the other end of Crossender Road was the rear of the grandstand of MARINE Football Club.I too can remember the hill by the railway bridge on Mersey Road where sledges or lookalikes were used and large snowballs were ...see more

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
