Methodist Church And Sunday School
A Memory of Croydon.
This part of Croydon was where I once lived, during and after the war. I have been searching for a photo of the Methodist Church which I attended as a child, mainly at their Sunday School. In this photo I can see the spire of the church and it is the nearest I've come across. This lovely old place must have been demolished in the late 1950s or some time in the 1960s as it has simply disappeared in later photos. What a shame. I'd really love to get a photo of the front view of the church but my search has been in vain, so far.
I remember that one could get from London Road at Croydon through to Handcroft Road by walking down the path beside the church. Does anybody remember this place at all? I'd love to hear any memories of others. My email is: pg.harfleet at gmail.com if you care to contact me on this topic.
