Dancing In Dagenham

A Memory of Dagenham.

i remember dancing over Burtons at Heathway Dagenham with Harry and Phil Doughty, 1958 onwards.I would like to hear from anyone who can relate to this time and place, I had a group of friends who some I can't remember their names but Ken Davis, Helen, Valerie, Josie and Mac, were a few, we had many outings with the dancing school and lots of lovely memories. Get in touch if you were part of that era. Pauline.

I went to the Doughty ballroom dance school sometime around 1960 .I lived above Martins newsagents 122 Church elm lane my dad was the manager there his name was Don Keeble. I went to Fords school and then onto Park School (Seniors ) until we moved 18months later.
I went to the Doughty ballroom dance school from 1958 until Harry Doughty retired in 1964. In the Essex.dance memories I remember Ken Davis and Pauline (Macdonald?). I think that the Valerie mentioned is the one I later found to be my cousin Valerie Beale. I also remember the blind man Len, and also blind Jimmy Collison and his friend Ted Herbert, plus the Slade brothers. Eileen
