More about this scene
This view of Borough Hill was taken from neighbouring Newnham Hill. The forest of masts and aerials was a feature of the landscape for over 65 years. The first two were erected in 1925 when the BBC opened the first National Service from Daventry. This service was later transferred to Droitwich. The name of Daventry appeared with Paris, Hilversum and Berlin on the radio dials of the 20th century across the world.
