More about this scene
The cottages on the left of this photograph have all gone now, and in their place is a landscaped public garden area with trees and bushes. The houses on the right of the square remain, and are now whitewashed. The gabled building immediately to the left of the 18th-century parish church, built in the classical style, is an ex-servicemen's club.
