More about this scene
The three cottages on the left were originally a house of c1580, with the further range added in c1800. When the shoemaker's single-storey, former shop beyond had been demolished, he moved into No 6. The building to the right was one house, the lower section of c1430, with the higher added in c1550. The two concrete Second World War cones (left and right) remain, the one on the left hidden in the shrubbery, the other cut into three pieces forming posts along the front fence.
