Wartime Evacuee

A Memory of Delabole.

In1939 I was for a short while evacuated to Delabole with my elder brother, I have very few memories as I was 5 at the time,. We stayed with Mr & Mrs. Mules (amended from Mills 19.07.2018) They lived at "St. Michaels" a property on the High St.. They had a son Edwin aged about 14. I seem to recall the property backed on to a railway cutting thro' which the occasional single carriage train would run. My home was in South Norwood, Croydon (at that time in Surrey now London Borough). I seem to recall Mrs.Mules was related to the Cuthbert and/or Stanley families who lived nearby

With this limited information and 79 years later, does anybody have information they can add? Was I right about the train? Is there a "Gull Rock" just off coast?

My brother and I (who's still around) returned home after a couple of months or so as there didn't seem to be a war going on. Things soon changed!!!
