Nice Memories

A Memory of Denham.

Can anyone share any memories of this era and beyond? At my time there I went to Greenaway
School, Uxbridge and I also sang in the choir at Ealing Church. I remember Mr Hill very well, especially
his old Ford Popular which we used to stand on the running board as he brought us along the long
drive if he was passing. I also remember Sambo Williams. I remember we all wanted to run away but
we did not get far, Mr Hill came to collect us in his car. I am now 70 years old and the brain does not work too well. My wife asks are there any photos of when I was young? If anybody does have any I would love to see them. I have been happily married to my wife for 40 years.

My word that takes me back, I was about 10.5 years old when I went to denham court, my mother was burnt to death when I was 7 and my father married again, not a happy time, I adored my own mother, and I did some bad things when she died, I constanly ran away from home, and when I was 10 years old my parents told the court they did'nt want me, I went to reception home in teddington for 6months then whent on to denham court after that, I was a terrified little boy as I had heard terrible stories of Mr. Hill, but they were unfounded, I loved my time there, as I said I was a little boy then, I am a grown up lady now, as I am transexual, I loved the firework nights with tock H, how lovely someone remembers
I was at Denham Court for six 1963 months hated every minute of my stay there .sent there at 12 years old from a children's home in East Finchley where I spent my first years of life . Run by the Hills and a phedo Mr Green who was arrested and commited to prison for indecent assault Denham Court was a horror story thank God my brother Frank got me out of the place in time .
