My Childhood

A Memory of Dockenfield.

I lived at Manor Farm  and remember the boy next door, his name was Nigel Swatton. I wonder what happened to him. Then there was the Cripps family  and Joan Berry, I wonder what happened to all of those. I would love  to look around the farm to see how it has changed.

Hello Marian My name is Joanna Cripps My fathers name was Norman Leonard Cripps and his parents were Norman Leslie and Edith Dorothy Kate Cripps Nee Berry are these any of the Cripps you remember? as you can gather they have all passed away. Do you know who Joan Berry was related too? I think i still have some Cripps still living in Docenfield, Aunts & Uncles also did you know any Etheringtons they were from my Grans mothers side. Thank you for any help. Joanna.
Hello Joanna What a lovely suprise to hear from you i remember the Cripps family was quite a large family John & Barbara seem to come to mind as for Joan Berry i remember she lived on a farm along the main road and she had a brother called Gudge dont know what that was short for. Yes i think the Etheringtons lived on the same housing estate as the Cripps Its an awful long time ago when i lived in Dockenfield 67 years ago i still live fairly local about 10 miles away sorry cant be much help to you but would love to be in touch with anyone who remembers me thanks for contacting take care Marian
